Hello there. My name is Daniel Wilkens and I am your webmaster. I'm a graduate student here at SEMO, going for my Master's degree in English. I previously received my Bachelor's degree here at SEMO as well, in English Education (with a focus on secondary education). If you have any questions, feel free to contact me.

How does one gain a Master's in English? What sort of classes do you have to take? How long is the graduate program? How difficult is the work?

Well, it's a 36 hour degree, so in a perfect plan it should take two years. There are some requirements, obviously, literature, composition, all that jazz, plus of course the thesis writing, but there's a lot of wiggle room in the form of electives as well. So far, at least for this semester, I know that I will be reading... a lot. (21 books for 3 classes)

And here I thought my 8 books for one class, in addition two a two-part textbook for another literature class and Adv. Creative Writing sounded ridiculous. Is it worth the effort?
